To achieve a treatment to reduce the weight of garbage or like stinking and remove the odor thereof free from any environmental problem and with simple equipment by providing a combustion furnace below a deodorizing furnace and the deodorizing furnace below a fermentation drying tank.
A fermentation drying tank 2 is provided to ferment and dry a matter containing moisture treatable by fermentation, for example, garbage under heating conditions and a combustion furnace 3 to incinerate the matter to be treated by the fermentation drying tank 2. A deodorizing furnace 4 is provided to deodorize bad-smelling exhaust gas as generated from the combustion furnace 3 by combustion. A heat recovery circuit 5 is provided to introduce the exhaust gas deodorized as generated from the deodorizing furnace 4 into the fermentation drying tank 2 as heat source for heating and a generated gas guiding path 6 is provided to guide an odor gas steam generated in the fermentation drying take 2 to a deodorizing path 4 or the combustion furnace 3. With such an arrangement, the generation of offensive odor can be prevented with a relatively compact designing.
