To provide a disposer with a safe lid detection part capable of accurately and surely detecting the state of the safe lid for a garbage charging opening.

The disposer A has a garbage grinding part 6, which is provided with a garbage discharge port under a garbage charging port 1 and is equipped with a safe lid detection part 5 for detecting the safe lid 3 arranged to the garbage charging port 1 and an operation control part 10 for operating for the garbage grinding part 6 on the basis of the signal from the safe lid detection part 5 detecting such a state that the safe lid 3 is arranged to the garbage charging port 1. The safe lid detection part 5 consists of the fixed coil body 2 wound around the garbage charging port 1 in a coil form to receive the application of AC voltage and the movable coil body 4 wound around the safe lid 3 in a coil form and capable of being resonated along with the fixed coil body 2 when the safe lid 3 is arranged to the garbage charging port and, therefore, the safe lid detection part can accurately and certainly detect the arranging state of the safe lid to the garbage charging port over a long period of time.
