Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance information acquisition apparatus which can acquire the information of the distance up to an object in a short time. SOLUTION: The distance information acquisition apparatus, which acquires the information of the distance to the object, is provided with an image pickup part which photographs the images of the object seen from two points, which are optically different, an object detecting part which detects a main object from a first image and a second image, which are obtained with the imaging part by photographing the images of the object from the two different points, a distance calculation part which calculates the information of the distance to the main object on the basis of the positions of the main object in the first image and second image which the object detecting part has detected.
