PURPOSE: To obtain the document editing device which can use characters of a font that a user freely handwrites even for characters of a specific JIS standard coded font.

CONSTITUTION: On the document editing device, JIS standard coded font data on a specific character 'a' in Japanese syllabary are drawn and inputted on a pen drawing input part 2 set on the CRT screen of a display part 7 by the user from the outside by using a touch pen. The font data on the handwritten 'a' which is drawn and inputted are stored in a character code storage part 6 by code data corresponding to the character 'a' specified with the JIS standard code. When the key corresponding to 'a' is pressed on a keyboard 9, the document editing device 1 prints 'a' by using the handwriting font data stored in the character code storage part 6.
