Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simply execute a 'Kanji' (Chinese character) conversion of a document, and to prevent a selection miss of a conversion character-string, by displaying only a conversion character-string which has been selected in advance, on a display device, in accordance with an input position in a document in an input character code. CONSTITUTION:In a user registration dictionary 3, an effective range which can be converted by a position in a document is registered in advance, together with an input character code and a conversion character-string. When a character code is inputted from an input device 6, an input position in the codument is detected by an input position detecting device 7. Subsequently, the user registration dictionary 3 is retrieved, and when the registered character code and the input character code coincide with each other, and also, there is the conversion character-string being an effective range in which the input position can be converted, it is displayed on a display device 1, from which the conversion character-string designated by an operator is stored in a storage device 5. Also, unless there is the conversion character-string for satisfying said condition, a selection of the conversion character-string using a usual standard dictionary 4 is executed.
