PURPOSE: To provide an improved platen carrying mechanism which is used together with a document processor of a picture input terminal by giving a distributed force to carry a friction belt in a margin area near an image forming plate.
CONSTITUTION: A carrying frame 109 of a carrying system 32 supports a friction belt 110. The belt 110 is rotated around a driving roll 111 and a tension roll 113. Extended rolls 114 which are rotatably supported by the frame 109 are arranged on edge parts of an entrance and an exit of a platen, and these rolls are carried on the belt 110. Extended members 115 like sliders, namely, skis are arranged on upper and lower parts of the platen and are practically extended throughout between extended rolls 114. Thus, flat, namely, parallel positioning of a document on the image forming face platen is promoted.
