PURPOSE: To preferentially notify a user of information of a document which is important for the user, from among reservation retrieval results.
CONSTITUTION: A notice condition is set in accordance with the reservation retrieval condition, and it is stored in a storage device 104. A retrieval result notice program 112 extracts the document matched with the notice condition from the retrieval result after reservation retrieval is executed at a prescribed time, and notifys the user by using an electronic mail, an electronic list and facsimile. When the content of the noticed document is accumulated in a low speed storage device 106, a data controller 105 transfers it to a high speed storage device 107 and realizes the high speed access by the user. Thus, the important document can be extracted from the document of the reservation retrieval result, and it can preferentially be given to the user. Thus, the user can timely obtain important information. Furthermore, the document can always be stored in the high speed storage device. Thus, the user can access the document at a high speed.
