This door guard is designed to have a receiving metal fitting 23 comprising a fixed seat 22 provided with a locking projection 21 having an extended head and to have an U-shaped latch metal fitting 11 whose base is enlarged open to serve as a slot 12 for the locking projection 21, with the end of the base freely rotationally attached to a door mounting seat 13 so that the shell of the locking projection 21 is free to float within an oblong hole 16 defined between both sides of the latch metal fitting 11. In this case, a latch is provided with a ball 4 supported on the door mounting seat 13 by a spring, and at the base of the latch metal fitting 11, recesses 5a, 5b, 5c that fit over the ball 4 are provided, respectively, in a position where the latch metal fitting 11 is roughly folded over the face of the door, a position where the latch metal fitting 11 is raised roughly 90 degrees to insert the locking projection 21 into the slot 12, and a position halfway between these positions.
