To provide a door safety device easily mountable by mechanically controlling the closing operation of both slide doors on the landing side and the car side when a power failure occurs and having excellent usability for general types of elevators.
A stepped reel 17 is installed coaxially with a drive pulley 15 on the door closing side among a pair of drive pulleys for driving the slide doors. The stepped reel 17 has a large diameter part larger in diameter than that of the drive pulley 15. One end of a wire 21 the other end of which is connected to the large diameter part is connected to a high-speed slide door 2 through a coiled spring 22. The drive pulley 15 is biased together with the stepped reel 17 in the door opening rotating direction by pulling the wire 21 in the door opening direction by the coiled spring 22.
