PURPOSE: To improve corrosion resistance by consisting the brazed parts between the outside pipe part and inside pipe part of a pipe, and the surface layer parts of both inside and outside surfaces of the pipe of an alloy contg. Ni, Fe and a high content of Cu.
CONSTITUTION: Plated steel plates are double wound and are brazed by melting the plating coated layers on th top surfaces of the steel plates, whereby a double wound pipe is produced. More specifically, Cu-Ni alloy plating of ≥50% content of Cu and 1W15μ plating thicknesses is carried out on one surface of ordinary steel plates or stainless steel plate. The plating method may be any of electroplating, chemical plating and vapor phase plating. With the side of the plating coated layer of such steel plates on the outer or inner side, two sheets of the steel plates are superposed and are made into a double wound pipe. This pipe is subjected to a brazing treatment at the temps. above the m.p. of the Cu-Ni alloy plating layer and below the m.p. of the Ni.
