To allow a strike to be always engaged with a runner even if a sidewall of furniture is separated from a side plate of a drawer under the long-term use of the furniture.

The strike with its lower part formed as a mounting part 61 and with its upper part formed as an engaging part 62 includes rectangular spring holes 63, 64 and screw holes 67, 67 bored in the laterally symmetrical positions of the front face of the mounting part 61. Pressing springs 65, 66 of backward curved shape to project slightly from the rear face of the mounting part 61 are integrally formed from the upper parts to the lower parts of the spring holes 63, 64. The strike is mounted to the side plate by screws so as to be engaged with the runner in the closed state of the drawer. The whole of the strike, i.e., the engaging part of the strike 60, is energized by the spring force of the pressing springs 65, 66 to separate from the side plate. Consequently, even if the side plate is deformed outward, the engagement between the strike 60 and the runner is not released.
