Abstract:
To provide a drive device for a human-powered vehicle, which can suitably control an electric motor in relation to the reverse rotation of a crank.SOLUTION: A drive device for a human-powered vehicle includes: an electric motor that is configured to rotate in a first rotation direction to assist the propulsion of the human-powered vehicle when a crank rotates forward, and to be transmitted with driving force from the crank and rotate in a second rotation direction opposite to the first rotation direction when the crank rotates in reverse; and a control unit that controls the electric motor so that a rotational torque in the second rotation direction is generated in at least one of a state where the crank rotates in reverse and a state where human power driving force is given to the crank to rotate the crank in reverse.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
