Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor type drive device which can avoid dimensional increase and weight increase of a machine tool.
SOLUTION: A row of magnets 560 are provided in respective magnet retaining grooves 54 of pairs of magnet row support parts 55 and 55 so as to make the respective magnets face each other with a coil passing space S between. Attracting forces of the magnets whose backs face each other on one comb-shaped protrusion 53 cancel each other and the comb-shaped protrusions 53 on both the side ends can be effectively reinforced by ribs 52a by utilizing the widths of the magnets 56.
