Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the optimum 4WD drive control by installing a torque split device utilizing the variation of clutch pressure onto a 4WD center differential gear through a bypass and carrying out the torque control for the front and rear wheels, throttle control and brake control on the basis of a number of dimension values such as revolution speed of each wheel. CONSTITUTION:Through an output shaft 4 connected with a torque converter 2 and an automatic transmission 3 in a vertical type front engine 1, the output is distributed onto a front drive shaft 7 and a rear drive shaft 11 by a center differential gear 20, and front/rear wheel drive is carried out through each differential gear 8, 12. The front and rear drive shafts 7 and 11 are connected with a hydraulic clutch 27 which can adjust the clutch torque pressure, and a torque limiter is constituted, bypassing the center differential gear 20. The torque distribution for the front and rear wheels, traction control through throttle control, and skid control through brake control are carried out on the basis of a number of dimension values such as revolution seed of each wheel, and the optimum 4WD drive control free from power loss can be obtained.
