When receiving a driving command for driving an exhaust valve up to a fully opening or fully closing position, a servomotor is controlled in driving up to the inside of a PWM control range, a motor position is sampled with every specific time by a motor position sensor, and a driving speed ΔVp of the servomotor is detected. In the case where the driving speed ΔVp is larger than a prescribed value, when the motor position reaches a PO point being in the PWM control range, the servomotor is driven in the inverse direction for a prescribed period, and after the prescribed period passes, PWM control is executed. Thus, the servomotor is quickly reduced in a speed, and a brake effect acts on the exhaust valve to restrain an overshoot and hunting so that the exhaust valve can be controlled in the fully opening or fully closing position with the simple constitution.
