Abstract:

PURPOSE: To present a device, which enables a rotary shaft to be driven on XYZ-axes in the particular atmosphere, by utilizing the force, generated in accordance with a transformation by heating or cooling a shape-memory alloy, as a driving power source.

CONSTITUTION: A deivce vaccumizes a vessel 1 from its bottom part by a vacuum exhaust system to generate an objective vacuum degree or an objective gas atmosphere. In order to move a sample 2, the device, electrifying a heater 4 in the peripheral part of an X-axis shape memory alloy 3 through a vacuum seal 5 provided outside the vessel, heats the heater 4 to increase its temperature to about 60°C or more. The device, opening the X-axis shape memory alloy 3 by heating the heater 4 to be moved as shown by a dotted line in the drawing while moving an X-axis moving bed 7, moves the sample 2 to an assigned position. To move and rotate the sample in a Y-axis and a Z-axis, the device performs action similarly to that for moving in the X-axis by heating respectively shape memory alloys 8, 9 and 16.
