Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a driving system capable of a homogeneous halftone display on a display device which uses display picture elements consisting of liquid crystal.
CONSTITUTION: The amplitude VR of the applied signal of row electrodes and the amplitude 2Vc of the applied voltage of column electrodes are set to a range surrounded with an area of TTH<VR+VC-V0<VTH sandwiched between straight lines 51 and 52, an area of VR-VC-V0≤0 below a straight line, and an area of VR+2(VC-V0)≤0 below a straight line 4, where V0 is the threshold voltage of a nonlinear element, VSAT is the display saturated voltage of the liquid crystal, and VTH is the threshold voltage.
