There is provided a droplet detection device 101 including a plurality of electrodes 1 and detection means for detecting a droplet being present on between the plurality of electrodes 1 based upon respective variations in capacitance between the plurality of electrodes 1. The plurality of electrodes 1 comprises at least three electrodes 1, and are arranged side by side in a predetermined direction in which the droplet flows, and the detection means includes a control part 14 which detects whether the droplet is present based upon capacitance between electrodes among the at least three electrodes 1, and determines whether the droplet moves based upon a shift in presence position of the detected droplet with time.
