To provide a droplet observation method and a droplet observation device whereby a droplet discharged from a nozzle hole of a droplet discharge head and flying is observed precisely and with simple construction.
This droplet observation device 1 comprises: a flash irradiation means 2 irradiating the droplet 200 with flashes 23 while observing the droplet 200 discharged from the nozzle hole 101 of the droplet discharge head 100 and flying; a camera 4 photographing the droplet 200 irradiated with the flashes 23 to photographic films 42; an image scanner 7 incorporating photographs obtained by developing the photographed photographic films 42 and converting them into electronic images; and an image processing means 5 obtaining information concerning flight condition of the droplet 200 by picture processing the electronic images.
