To provide a drying device in which articles to be dried are smoothly stirred and transported in a drying chamber, the generation of dust is small, the risk of explosion is reduced, thermal conductivity and drying effect are superior, a time for drying is shortened, required footprint and power is small, and the discharge of contaminated substances can be well controlled.
The drying device includes the drying chamber for drying the articles to be dried by drying the same, a rake arranged inside of the drying chamber and agitating the articles to be dried by the rotation of a blade connected to a hub, a rotation shaft inserted into a rotation shaft inserting opening of the rake and transmitting the rotation force, a driving section for rotating the rake via the rotation shaft, and a heater for the generating heat such that the heat is directly or indirectly supplied to the drying chamber, the outer peripheral surface of the rotation shaft and the inner peripheral surface of the rotation shaft inserting opening are arranged while being spaced apart from each other such that the rake can slide along the rotation shaft and have noncircular shapes corresponding to each other, the blade of the rake scrapes while coming into contact with the ceiling surface or the floor surface of the drying chamber.
