Abstract:

PURPOSE: To accurately evaluate only the durability of the surface of the magnetic recording disk by vibrating at least only either one of the disk or a core slider finely in the surface direction of the disk while the core slider is pressed elastically against the magnetic recording disk surface.

CONSTITUTION: The core slider 6 of a magnetic head is pressed against the surface of the magnetic recording disk D. The magnetic recording disk D is not rotated continuously and at least either one of the magnetic recording disk D or core slider 6 is vibrated finely in both directions of the magnetic recording disk D for a specific time. Namely, the side of the magnetic recording disk D may be vibrated finely and the side of the core slider 6 may be vibrated finely. Further, the both may be vibrated relatively and the direction of the fine vibration may be a straight direction or rotating direction. Consequently, the core slider 6 is rubbed locally against a specific area on the surface of the magnetic recording disk. The rubbing track is observed and the vibration of the core slider 6 is measured by a sensor fitted on the side of the core slider 6 to observe the wear state of the magnetic recording disk surface and the adhesive strength of a protection film, thereby evaluating the durability.
