PURPOSE: To reduce the processing quantity in a split state by putting dynamically the page of the record moving in the split stat into a new page of a prime area.
CONSTITUTION: The number of records having the has value to be stored in a page 3 of a prime area 2 is increased and therefore a fixed area secured in the page 3 is unable to store all records. Therefore two overflow areas 3 are added so that the records having no movement in the next split state are stored in one of both areas 3 with the records having the movements in th next split state stored in the other area 3 respectively. As a result, the linkage of pages is released in the split state and the new linkage is formed among the pages of the added prime area. Thus the split processing is quickly carried out with a simple operation.
