To provide an early stabilization method for a heavy metal-containing waste material capable of efficiently and early accomplishing insolubilization of the contained heavy metal in the waste material.
In the method, a heavy metal capturing agent for insolubilizing the heavy metal in the heavy metal-containing waste material is fed to the waste material after reclamation of the waste material or at reclamation. For example, there is a method which enables a feed of the heavy metal capturing agent to the waste material through a gas removal pipe 1 and/or a leachate collection/discharge pipe 2 previously provided in a reclamation land 10 and a feed of the heavy metal capturing agent through a pouring pipe separately installed in the waste material. Further, there is a method which enables a spray or scatter of the heavy metal capturing agent from above the waste material.
