PURPOSE: To improve integrity of earthquake resistance of a structure by using an earthquake-proof material which has resilience, and close contact property, in the vertical and parallel directions to inner and outer walls.
CONSTITUTION: An earthquake-proof support mechanism is symmetrically disposed to the center axis of a structure, lugs 3 are mounted on the outer wall of an inside vessel and the inner wall of an outside vessel and earthquake-proof material 4 which is resilient and has a close contact property is mounted in the perpendicular and parallel directions to the inner and outer walls. The close contact property between earthquake-proof material support structures is improved by using material whose shape is changed in a high temperature phase of shape memory alloy and the like, the quantity of displacement is effectively transmitted to the outside vessel and the natural frequency of the inside vessel can be enlarged. Earthquake force can be smoothly transmitted to the outside vessel because the shape memory alloy indicates rubbery resiliency in the high temperature phase.
