Abstract:
To realize editing having an editing point in GOP without changing the number of pictures in GOP.
When video data recorded as an MPEG stream is edited, information for specifying a termination part of a stream which is to be left is inputted (S1), and a reference picture in GOP, which corresponds to information on the termination part, is decided (S2). The pictures from the picture following the decided reference picture to the last picture in GOP are judged to be the stream to be deleted (S3). All the streams judged to be deleted are replaced with the same pictures as the reference pictures.
