Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional device: that reading and writing operations may not be correctly performed on an EEPROM that is readable and writable via an IIC bus.
SOLUTION: An EEPROM accessing device (nonvolatile memory accessing device) comprises a check data reading means by which predetermined check data stored in the EEPROM (nonvolatile memory) 20 readable and writable via the IIC bus (general-purpose communications bus) 50 is read from the EEPROM 20; a determining means for determining whether or not the check data was read correctly; and an access means for reading from or writing on the EEPROM 20 if the check data is determined to have been read correctly. If a power supply to the EEPROM 20 becomes unstable, the check data stored in the EEPROM 20 cannot be read correctly, so no reading and writing operations are performed on the EEPROM 20.
