To provide an elastic body for supporting an axle box interposed between the axle box and a coil spring as a device capable of avoiding inconvenience such as peeling, cracking, etc. of a rubber layer caused by a compressive load even in a lower flange-less structure made of an upper flange and the rubber layer.
This elastic body for supporting the axle box vertically interposed between the axle box 1 and the coil spring above it has the upper flange 11 on which a lower side spring receiver seat 9 of the coil spring 5 is placed and the rubber layer 12 vulcanized and adhered on its lower surface and is equipped with a lateral slippage regulating means K capable of regulating laterally extending deformation of the rubber layer 12 when the compressive load in a direction where the axle box 1 and the coil spring 5 approach each other and/or damage of an adhering surface of the upper flange 11 and the elastic member 12 caused by the laterally extending deformation.
