To provide an electric discoloration part and a display device using the same.
This electric discoloration part includes a first transparent substrate and a second transparent substrate, and a conductive element and an electric discoloration layer are provided between the substrates. Thereby, the ionic valency inside a material can be altered by electrons. As for the ionic valency, the provision of the electrons causes a reduction, and the turn-off of the electricity causes the oxidation to discolor the material, so that the electric discoloration speed thereof is higher than that of an electric discoloration material of well-known technology. Besides, this electric discoloration has advantages such as being uniform, being quickly discolored and requiring a small drive voltage. This electric discoloration is different from a discoloration mechanism performed by injecting and extracting both of ions and electrons with respect to an organic/inorganic discoloration material.
