Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric heating catalyst body which can prevent an electrode layer from peeling even if a heating-cooling-heating cycle from room temperature to a high temperature more than 1000°C is repeated and reduce a change rate of electrical resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided an electric heating catalyst body 1 which comprises a honeycomb body 2 and a pair of electrode layers 3 which are joined to an outer cover part 22 of the honeycomb body and disposed opposing to each other on an outer peripheral surface 221 of the honeycomb body. The honeycomb body 2 is formed of a porous ceramics containing SiC or an SiC-Si composite material as a main component. The electrode layers 3 contains 60 to 70 mass% of Si or 60 to 70 mass% of Si and SiC in total and the balance of Al and inevitable impurities.
