Title:
ELECTRIC MOTOR FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5343305
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
The traction motor (1) drives the driving axle (3) of a locomotive via a pinion (9), a spur-gear drive (2) and an elastic coupling (5, 6, 7). Its rotor shaft (8) is supported on that side of the pinion (9) facing the traction motor (1) in two bearings (10, 11) which are located in the motor housing (12). In order to create better loading of the bearings, a third bearing (13), which is likewise supported by the motor housing (12), for the rotor shaft (8) is located on the other side of the pinion (9). A coupling (14, 15, 16), which permits longitudinal displacements and provides centring, is furthermore provided in the course of the rotor shaft (8). The two bearings (11, 13) which are adjacent to the pinion (9) are lubricated by the transmission oil. Such traction motors having triple bearings are used as bogie-mounted motors or nose-suspended motors for driving tracked locomotives, for large torques at high rotation speeds.
