To provide an electric tool detecting the inclination thereof with a simple configuration.
The electric tool includes: a housing with a built-in motor 21; a mounting part 15 which can mount a piercing bit 2 driven by a motor 21 and machining a workpiece; one distance sensor 14 which emits an ultrasonic wave to the surface of the workpiece, detects an ultrasonic wave reflected by the surface, outputs a detection signal and is mounted on the housing in such a way that the directional axis of the ultrasonic wave is parallel to the axis of the piercing bit 2 mounted on the mounting part 15; and a control part processing the detection signal. The distance sensor 14 is configured to output the detection signal of the highest intensity when the direction of the directional axis of the ultrasonic wave and the normal direction of the surface are parallel to each other. The control part has an ultrasonic wave detecting means detecting the ultrasonic wave by using the detection signal and an inclination detecting means detecting an inclination state in which the axis of the boring bit 2 is inclined to the normal based on a detection result obtained by the ultrasonic wave detecting means.
