Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title cable prevented from undergoing water tree and improved in electrical properties by mixing an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer or a mixture thereof with a low-density PE with a specified antioxidant. CONSTITUTION:An electrical insulation resin composition is obtained by mixing 100 pts.wt. mixture formed by mixing an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer of an acrylic acid content of 0.5-10wt.% or a mixture of an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer with a low-density PE of an acrylic acid content of 0.5-10wt.% with 0.05-0.3 pt.wt. pentaerythrityltetrakis[3-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) propionate]methane and optionally 1.5-3 pts.wt. crosslinking agent (e.g. dicumyl peroxide). A power cable is obtained by forming an insulator comprising the above composition on a conductor directly or through an inner semiconductor layer.
