To provide a safe electrically powered transfer device for a bed operated by an operator at will by electrically powered assisting.
The electrically powered transfer device for the bed includes a dolly 2 equipped with moving casters 23, an electrically powered assisting unit 3 which is provided on the dolly 2, and has a driving wheel 9, abutting on a floor surface when used and disengaged with the floor surface when not used, a battery for the unit 3, an operation lever 7 for controlling the unit 3, and a selector switch 16 for changing to an assisted operation by the electrically powered assisting unit. The electrically powered transfer device receives operation signals of the operation lever 7 when the electrically powered transfer device receives signals to switch to an assisted operation from the switch 16 and conditions for driving the assisting unit that a drive shaft 9 of the unit 3 abuts on the floor surface, that the moving casters 23 are unlocked, and that a battery voltage of the unit 3 is equal to or more than a prescribed value are satisfied. Then, the electrically powered assisting unit is controlled to drive based on the signal.
