Abstract:
Provided is an electrode catheter having improved reliability. An electrode catheter (1) is provided with a shaft (2) having flexibility and having a first region (A1) and a second region (A2), which are arranged in sequence from the operating section (3) side in the axial direction (Z-axis direction) of the shaft (2). The shaft (2) has: electrodes (ring-shaped electrodes (21a, 21b, 21c) and a distal end electrode (22)) provided in the second region (A2); small holes (lumens (H21, H22, H23, H24)) formed in the second region (A2) and extending in the axial direction; and a cylindrical structure (cylindrical member (4)) provided in the first region (A1) and including a braided layer (4b) which comprises plate-like linear members (43) arranged so as to intersect each other and which extends in the axial direction. In the braided layer (4b), the plate-like linear members (43) are secured to each other in the intersecting sections which are located at the second region (A2)-side end of the braided layer (4b) and in which the plate-like linear members (43) intersect each other.
