Abstract:
To provide an electrode or the like that can achieve both performance and safety of an electrochemical element.SOLUTION: An electrode has a substrate, an electrode mixture layer on the substrate, and an insulating layer on the electrode mixture layer. From a surface image of the insulating layer seen from above the electrode, a unit insulating layer is determined which is one insulating layer surrounded by a non-insulating layer region where the insulating layer is not formed. A graph is obtained which has a transverse axis representing an area (μm2) of the unit insulating layers and a vertical axis representing the number of the unit insulating layers, and the area (μm2) of the unit insulating layers is 1,000 μm2 or more. When a first insulating region is defined to have the largest number of unit insulating layers, and a second insulating region is defined to be the insulating layer having twice or more the area (μm2) of the unit insulating layers of the first insulating region, the insulating layer has the first insulating region and the second insulating region.SELECTED DRAWING: None
