To improve power generation efficiency of a horizontal stack type fuel cell using a metal fiber sheet composed by forming a metal fiber into a sheet-like shape for an electrode.
A structure composed by diffusion-bonding a thin metal sheet 102 having an annular pattern 201 and a bridge part 202 onto a metal fiber sheet 101 composed by forming a metal fiber into a sheet-like shape is employed for this electrode 103 for a fuel cell used for a flat stack type fuel cell having a structure where a basic unit cells are flatly arranged and connected in series to one another. According to the structure, a current tending to flow in a direction parallel to the surface of the metal fiber sheet 101 flows through the thin metal plate 102, whereby loss of generated power is not increased even if resistance in the direction parallel to the surface of the metal fiber sheet 101 is high.
