Abstract:

To provide a manufacturing method of an electrode for a fuel cell in which drainability of formed water by electrode reaction is improved, damage of carbon nanotubes at peeling-off of a substrate after transcription to an electrolyte membrane is prevented, and water repellent layers of the carbon nanotubes is efficiently imparted.

In the electrode for the fuel cell arranged at least on one face of the electrolyte membrane, this has conductive nano columnar bodies nearly vertically oriented against a face direction of the electrolyte membrane, a catalyst carried by the conductive nano columnar bodies, electrolyte resin layers which are contacted with the electrolyte membrane and distributed nearly in the horizontal direction, and furthermore, cover one part of the conductive nano columnar bodies, and the water repellent layers which are positioned at farther side than the electrolyte membrane resin layers and distributed nearly in the horizontal direction while contacting with the electrolyte membrane resin layers, and furthermore, cover the residual part of the conductive nano columnar bodies.
