Abstract:
To provide an electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery in which occurrence of wrinkles is suppressed in an electrode or foil during a press work or the like for improving the electrode density even when an insulating layer is provided.SOLUTION: An electrodes for a lithium ion secondary battery include a current collector, an electrode active material layer laminated on a part of the current collector, and an insulating layer which is laminated on the current collector and arranged to be adjacent to an end portion of the electrode active material layer or laminated on the current collector and the electrode active material layer so as to straddle the current collector and the electrode active material layer. The insulating layer contains insulating fine particles and a binder for the insulating layer. The ratio of the insulating fine particles to the total of the insulating fine particles and the binder for the insulating layer is equal to 75% by volume or more. Moreover, the ratio of the binder for the insulating layer to the total of the insulating fine particles and the binder for the insulating layer is equal to 25% by volume or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
