To enhance the holding force to a current collector of a gel electrolyte component to make the gel electrolyte directly applicable to the current collector, and provide an inexpensive electrode superior in mass productivity by comprising a sheet-like metal porous body having a three-dimensional frame structure and a polymer solid electrolyte.
A metallic porous body is obtained by coating a sponge-like plastic foam having a three-dimensional mesh frame structure with a metal or alloy by plating followed by baking. The porosity of the metal porous body is preferably set to 100-800 μm. As the polymer solid electrolyte, a gel polymer matrix is suitably used. When such a metal porous body is combined with the polymer solid electrolyte, a current collector, the gel polymer solid electrolyte, and an active material can be made coexistent in three phases, the solid electrolyte can be applied directly to the current collector, and an electrode with high performance and high productivity efficiency is obtained.
