To provide an electrode sufficiently lowering internal resistance, sufficiently, easily increasing output density of an electrochemical element, and having high electrode characteristics, and to provide the electrochemical element equipped with the electrode.
An anode has an active material-containing layer containing composite particles P10 containing an electrode active material, a conductive assistant, and a binder, and a current collector electrically contacting with the active material-containing layer. A cathode is constituted similarly to the anode. The electrochemical element is equipped with the anode, the cathode, and an electrolyte layer. The composite particles P10 contains electrode active material particles P1, conductive assistant particles P2, and binder particles P3. The composite particles P10 are formed through a granulation process. In the active material-containing layer, the electrode active material and the conductive assistant are electrically joined without being isolated.
