The electrogalvanized steel having a plated surface having lightness L value of 85 and 60specular gloss of 80 is obtained by electroplating using a sulfuric acidic galvanizing bath containing 3-valent Cr ion. The electrogalvanized steel is manufactured by a method of dipping a steel sheet in the sulfuric acidic galvanizing bath containing 10-800 ppm 3-valent Cr ion and having pH:0.5-3.5 and 50-150 g/L Zn ion content to electrogalvanize the steel sheet at 10-130 A/dm2 current density to deposit metal Zn on the surface of the steel sheet.
