Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce a polymer having stable properties and compsn. by passing an electrolyte contg. a monomer and supporting electrolyte between a pair of electrodes in an electrolytic cell and executing electrolysis. CONSTITUTION:The electrolyte contg. the monomer 12 and supporting electrolyte 13 prepd. to a desired concn. is fed by a pump 2 from an electrolyte storage tank 1 to the electrolytic cell 3 attached with an anode 4 and cathode 5 made of Pt, Ni, graphite, tin oxide, etc. at <=20mm space and electricity is conducted thereto at 0.1-100V voltage and 0.1-100mA/cm<2> current density to execute the electrolytic treatment. Thiophene, pyrrole, furan, benzene, aniline, etc. are used for the monomer 12 and a sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid are used for the supporting electrolyte. Water, methanol, etc. are used for the solvent. The concn. of the monomer 12 and the supporting electrolyte are adjusted by a controller 8 while the electrolyte is circulated. The electrolyte is then fed to the cell 3 and the polymer having the stable characteristics and compsn. is formed as a film on the anode 4.
