Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by holding a low operation voltage when actuating a rotor.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic actuator includes: a rotor 10 including a permanent magnet 13 which has two magnetic poles magnetized and has peak positions P1 and P2 of magnetic force in centers of the magnetic poles; a support frame 20 supporting the rotor so that the rotor is freely turnable between a stop position and a maximum operation position; a coil 30 wound around the support frame; and a magnetic member which rotationally urges the rotor by magnetic attraction of the permanent magnet. The magnetic member includes: main magnetic members 40 which are disposed off the peak positions to one side so that attractive force for rotationally urging the rotor toward the stop position is exerted on the rotor when the rotor is located in a stop position; and auxiliary magnetic members 50 which are disposed off the peak positions to the other side so that attractive force for rotationally urging the rotor toward the maximum operation position is exerted on the rotor by a value smaller than the attractive force exerted by the main magnetic members. Thus the rotor can be retained in the stop position, and an operation voltage at the time of activating the rotor is kept low to allow reduction of power consumption.
