To provide both an excellent magnetic shield characteristics and flex-crack resistance of an electromagnetic wave absorbing body, by using such soft magnetic powder as of aspect ratio (larger diameter/thickness ratio) being at least a specific value.
An electromagnetic wave absorbing body comprising a basic structure wherein a soft magnetic powder is combined through a binder, and Fe-Co alloy is used as the soft magnetic powder. Related to an electromagnetic wave absorbing body comprising such basic structure as this, such soft magnetic power as of aspect ratio (larger diameter/thickness ratio) being at least 15 is used. A soft magnetic powder like this is obtained by the process that an atomized powder gas-jetted, etc., using a molten bath of soft magnetic material composition is further flattened (for example, Attoritor process). It may be obtained by crushing an ingot. With the use of the soft magnetic powder, an electromagnetic wave absorption characteristics which is almost equal to conventional one is provided even if the content of the soft magnetic powder is less.
