Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance the electron emitting efficiency without impairing the stability of an electron emitting element.
CONSTITUTION: An electron emitting element of surface conduction type has a pair of element electrodes 4, 5 installed opposingly on an insulative base board 1 and an electroconductive thin film 3 provided at least partially with an electron emission part 2. The electron emission part consists of an electron emitting body [I] 7 in the form of PdO particulates, etc., and electron emitting bodies [II] 8 having a smaller work function than the body [I], wherein the bodies [II] 8 are distributed around the body [I] 7 in such an arrangement as more densely on the side with a positive electrode 4.
