Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required for rewriting a control program.SOLUTION: An ECU 1 includes CPUs 11, 12, and executes control processing for controlling an engine. The ECU 1 includes a flash ROM 13 (hereinafter referred to as ROM 13). The ROM 13 is allowed to rewrite data stored therein, and stores a control program for executing the control processing. When the ECU 1 externally receives rewrite data for rewriting the contents of the control program stored in the ROM 13, the CPU 11 stores the received rewrite data in a receiving buffer 21. The CPU 12 writes the rewrite data stored in the receiving buffer 21 to the ROM 13, to rewrite the contents of the control program stored in the ROM 13. The CPU 12 confirms coincidence between the received rewrite data and the rewrite data written to the ROM 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
