When installation of a memory card storing function restriction information (protect data) including a protect object application, a protect display screen and a protect time to a card slot is detected, the function restriction information is read and stored in each corresponding memory area in a system area in a flash ROM, and the protect display screen G4 is displayed to a display part 21 to externally report start of starting protect. A function according to the protect object application is set to be restricted by key input acceptance of only an "EXE" key, a starting protect mark M is added to a menu icon for which the function is restricted, and a function selection menu screen G1' with a protect residual time T is also displayed.
