To provide electronic equipment to which power saving control can be applied in accordance with the posture of the equipment.
An EC 90 reads data of an acceleration sensor 92 (S1). The EC 90 judges whether a computer 1 is in a top heated state, and when the computer 1 is determined to be in the top heated state, a BIOS (basic input/output system) stored in a BIOS-ROM 75 is notified that the computer 1 is in the top heated state (S6). The BIOS notified from the EC 90 that the computer 1 is in the top heated state notifies an OS (operation system) that the computer 1 is in the top heated state (S7). The OS sets a CPU 15 to a power saving mode by the existing means by power saving utility or the like of the OS and sets the computer 1 to a power saving mode (S8).
