The electronic equipment is provided with: a panel state detection means for detecting whether the display panel is installed long laterally or longitudinally; an image display means having a laterally long display function wherein an erected image is displayed on the display panel installed long laterally, a longitudinally long display function wherein an erected image is displayed on the display panel installed long longitudinally, and executing either of the laterally long display function and the longitudinally long display function; and a sounding control means for sounding either of a speaker corresponding to the laterally long installation and a speaker corresponding to the longitudinally long installation on the basis of a detection result by the panel state detection means.
