To provide an electronic tag system capable of periodically transmitting transmit information to feed history information into a plurality of electronic tags, while executing a process concerning its own internal information concurrently to reduce processing time.
A control device 11 periodically transmits transmit information to electronic tags 13a-13c located within the communication range of a communication device 12. The transmit information includes comparison instructions, comparison information showing the characteristic ID name of the controller 11 as a reader/writer, and a reference address showing a storage area in the storage device of each of the electronic tags 13a-13c in which the ID name of the reader/writer is written. A computing unit built into each of the electronic tags 13a-13c receives the transmit information, and if the tag is located within and moved to the communication range of a different reader/writer from that used in the previous process, the ID name of the new reader/writer and the updated number of movements are written as new location information so that the tag collects its own history of movement.
